Spring Break, part 1

We had an unusually eventful Spring Break (well, everyone else did--Maya and I were home the whole time, which was actually nice, too). I have some cute pictures here of Cami's overnight trip with Dad, so I thought I'd start there. Here's a picture she took of herself:


Ryan's cousin had passed away, and he took Friday off to go to her funeral. Since Cami had met her and known she was sick, he thought this would be a good chance for them to go to the service together and talk about it. He also wanted to scout out possible sources of mistletoe for next year, so they were going to camp that night and have an "adventure" on Saturday, driving around and hiking.

The adventure turned out to be late Friday night, when they found out that all the campgrounds were either closed altogether or the gates had closed at dusk, so they checked into a motel, much to Ryan's dismay. I told Cami she was better off in a bed anyway. Cami didn't care, especially since they found somewhere to make a fire for lunch on Saturday so they could put their hot dogs and s'mores ingredients to good use. They also hit a fish hatchery where Cami got some great shots of the fish jumping and feeding.

Apparently, Cami had control of the camera for most of the trip, and she took some cute ones. You can tell she had a great time on her road trip with dad!
