Maya has been a busy "mommy" this morning

It's always so educational to see your kids mimicking your parenting techniques. For instance, this morning Maya gave her baby a timeout in the corner (just like she gets when she's in trouble). Funny to see the baby with her nose in the corner, but even funnier (or not) that she then set the actual timer on the microwave, then turned around with her hands on her hips, pointed at the baby, and said, "Now stay there until it beeps!" Goodness, I hope I'm a LITTLE nicer than that.

Also this morning, her cousin Lucy had spent the night, and when I asked them what they were doing in the bathroom, Maya said, I'm just doing Lucy's hair, Mom!" Maya considers herself the barrette expert of the house.

Off topic, Lucy and Maya had a funny exchange this morning. For a while, Maya thought that Rose was a term of endearment since we would often call her by her full name, Maya Rose, so we would be Daddy Rose, Lily Rose, etc. Anyway, today while Lucy and Maya were having a snack, Lucy called Maya "Maya goose!" (Lucy's nickname is the Goose.) Maya told her she was not a goose, and Lucy replied, "But I am!" Maya said, "Yeah, you're a Lucy Goose!" Then they both cracked up.
