Miss Spell

Maya came to me a few minutes ago and told me she thought her name should be spelled "M-I-Y" because "it rhymes with my name better." Huh? If you read a recent post about Maya's spelling (in)abilities, you'll know why I wasn't expecting her answer to make any sense when I asked her what she meant, but I was surprised!

"See, Mom? Mmmmm, eye, yuh. Maya! So can my name be spelled M-I-Y now, forever?" Uh, no.

In other spelling news, Lily (who turned seven today, I can't believe it!) came up to me in the kitchen a couple days ago and said, "Mom, I know how to spell 'hypothesize'" and she did! Who ever said learning Spanish would put them behind?
